To make a light green paint a painter mixes blue and yellow paint in the ratio 1:4
How many tins of blue paint does he nèed to mix with 12 tins of yellow paint?

the ratio of blue to yellow paint is 1x and 4x(x is the common multiple)

so,when yellow tins are 12 that means 4x=12

so, x=12÷4=3,

so the no.of blue tins needed =3
