HERE'S THE ANSWER...

_____________________________

♠️ To make green paint , painter mixes yellow paint and green paint in ratio of 4 : 3 ; i.e

=> Yello : blue = 4 : 3

⏺️ If he uses 12 Litres of yellow paint , to make green paint he has to mix ( x litres ) of blue paint

▶️ We know ,

=> Yello : blue = 4 : 3

=> 12 / x = 4 / 3

=> 4 x = 12 × 3

=> 4 x = 36

=> \boxed{x \:= \: 9}

⏺️ He has to add 9 litres of blue paint .

Given statement : To make green paint, a painter mixes yellow paint and blue paint in the ratio 4:3.

It means that the fraction of yellow paint to blue paint in simplest form is 4 : 3. So we can assume the quantity of yellow as 4x l and quantity of blue paint as 3x l where x is only a variable and l is the unit ( liter ).

∴ Quantity of yellow paint = 4x l  -----: ( 1 )

 Quantity of blue paint = 3x l

Also given,he used 12 liters of yellow paint, from ( 1 ) we got the quantity of yellow was 4x l. Therefore 4x l is equal to 12 liters.

4x = 12

\dfrac{4x}{4} = \dfrac{12}{4}

x = 3

∴ Quantity of blue paint = 3x l

                                        = 3( 3 ) l

                                        = 9 l

Therefore, 9 liters of blue paint was used.
