To move a bed across the floor at a constant speed, a force of 100 N is required to be applied on the bed.

To find : The force of friction.

solution : we know when a body moves with constant speed, resultant external force acts on the body must be zero.

here a bed moves across the floor at a constant speed. so, external force acting on the bed is zero.

i.e., applied force - frictional force = 0

⇒100 N - frictional force = 0

⇒frictional force = 100 N

Therefore the frictional force acting on the bed is 100 N.
