To open a door, you push on the part of the door that is farthest from the hinges. Why would it be harder to open the door if you pushed on the center of it?

when we apply force far from the hinges we apply less force

But when we apply force from the center , the distance from hinges is close and we have to apply a great force

And hence it is harder to open the door.
