He was so much devoted to the Hindu god Rama and Hanuman.

Samarth Ramdas Swami established  the temples. He was a noted 17th century saint and was a spiritual poet of the state. 400 temples of Hanuman across the country were built  during his lifetime,  which he started this movement from Takali.
