when water is added to calcium oxide(quicklime)it will be converted to calcium hydroxide (slaked lime)with the liberation of enormous amount of heat.
CaO + H2O(water) = Ca(OH)2+heat
It is an exothermic reaction
Calcium hydroxide is an alkali.

HERE IS UR ANS......
1. It is a combination reaction where calcium oxide is combined with water to form calcium hydroxide.
CaO + H2O ――> Ca(OH)2
2. It is also an exothermic reaction as a lot of heat is produced in such a reaction.
