CaO+H2O-> Ca(OH)2

This is combination reaction where 2 or more reactants react together to form a single product

This is also an exothermic reaction as heat is liberated during this reaction

When water is added to calcium oxide (quicklime), it will be converted to calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) with the liberation of enormous amount of heat.

CaO+H₂O=Ca(OH)²+heat

It is an exothermic reaction.

Calcium hydroxide is an alkali.
