Molecular formula of solid crystalline oxalic acid: H2C2O4, 2H2O. Its Molecular Wt. 126. Hence, to prepare 250 ml M/20 oxalic acid solution 126*250/(20*1000) = 1.575 gram of oxalic acid is to be dissolved in water in a 250 ml volumetric flask.

1. Preparation of m/20 oxalic acid:

1. Take a clean and dry Volumetric flask.

2. Weigh 1.575 gram of Oxalic acid.

3. Add a few ml of distilled water in it and stir.

4. Make the Volume up to 250ml with Distilled water.

2. Determination of the Molarity and Strength with Kmno4:

1. Fill the Kmno4 Solution into Burette.

2. Pipette out 5ml Oxalic acid Solution into the Conical Flask.

3. Note the initial readings of Burette.

4. Add phenolphthalein indicator in the Conical flask.

5. Titrate Oxalic acid against Kmno4 til Pink Color appears permanent.

6. Note the Final reading.

7. Repeat the Procedure for three times.
