To prepare the saturated solution of common salt in distilled water

Procedure

1. Take 5 mL of distilled water in a glass/beaker.
2. Add one spatula /table spoon full of sodium chloride to the beaker and stir it with the help of

a glass rod/spoon.

3. Keep on adding one spatula of salt at a time to the beaker and dissolving it till no more

sodium chloride dissolves. The solution thus obtained is the saturated solution of sodium

chloride.

4. Repeat this activity taking 5 mL of hot water in the beaker/glass and count that how many

spatulas of the salt has dissolved.
