To produce 105 pollen grains how many meiotic divisions are required?


The answer is given as 27 . But for me the answer came up to be 26.25. But the CORRECT ANSWER IS 27. How??please explain

It's an approx answer...you won't say 26.25 meiotic division will occur but it doesn't seems crct...so only

For formation of 4 pollen grains = 1 Meiotic divison is required, So for the formation of 105 pollen grains = 1/4 x 105 = 26.25 Meiotic divisions are required. This is according to calculation but we have to use common sense that half a pollen can't be formed, so 27 meiotic divisions will take place.
