One egg is produced by the meiosis of egg mother cell. So, the total number of seeds is equal to the number of meiotic divisions in the female. It is also known that each pollen mother cells divide by meiosis to form four haploid pollen grains. Out of which, only one pollen grain participates in fertilisation. Therefore, 1/4 of the total number of seeds is equal to the number of meiotic divisions in a male. Now, total number of divisions = (50/4)+50 = 12.5 + 50 = 62.5. The divisions can not occur in decimals.
