In the poem "fire and ice ", ice stands for the hate or hatred which symbolize the jealousy in people's mind for others which is sufficient for destructing the world . The ice which means coldness of heart ,stiffness of heart which lacks in feelings or kindness can be the sufficient cause for the destruction of the world.
