To separate a mixture of common salt and ammonium chloride the following apparatus were provided by the laboratory assistant to a student. Tripod stand, china dish, wire gauge, Bunsen burner, a glass rod, cotton wool and matchbox.
(i) Name the apparatus which is missing and write its use in the above activity.
(ii) Name the separation technique used to separate the mixture.
