Fírst ëqûãtīon :

x + y = 3

=> y = 3 - x

Sëcónd êqúātion :

(Here put the value of y in its place.)

3x - y - 4 = 0

=> 3x - (3-x) - 4 = 0

=> 3x - 3 - x - 4 = 0

=> 2x - 7 = 0

=> 2x = 0 + 7

=> 2x = 7

=> x = 7/2

sO, the value of x is 7/2

And value of y is = 3 - 7/2

= -1/2.
