No. of shirts that can be made with 40 m of cloth will be --

=> 40/2.15

=>18.6 m

..therefore 18 shirts can be made with 40 m cloth and 0.6 meter of cloth will be leftover.

Hey! ! !

Solution :-

☆ Given,

Cloth required to stitch one shirt = 2m 15cm

= 2 x 100 + 15 cm

= 215cm

Given, length of cloth = 40 m (1m =100cm)

= 40 x 100

= 4000cm

Number of shirts that can be stitched and the cloth remains = 4000 ÷ 215

= 18 + 130

(i.e we get Quotient= 18, and remainder = 130
