First we have to convert higher units into lower units i.e. from meters to cm.
So, Total Cloth required to shirt one shirt = 2 m 15 cm
= 2 x 100 + 15 cm
= 215 cm
And, Total length of cloth = 40 m
= 40 x 100
= 4000 cm
Now, The number of shirt which can be stitched out of 4000 cm length of cloth = 4000 / 215
= 18 shirts + 130 cm remaining cloth
As, Quotient = 18 & Remainder = 130
∴ 18 shirts can be made with a remaining of 130 cm of cloth.
