Answer:

1m 15 cm cloth =115cm

total length of cloth= 36m =3600cm

we should divide 3600cm ÷ 100= 36

so it make 36 pants

and remaining cloth = 10 cm

Given - Amount of cloth

Find - Number of pants stitched and amount of cloth

Solution - Firstly converting required length of cloth to metres.

100 cm = 1 m

15 cm =  \frac{1 \times 15}{100}

15 cm = 0.15 m

Cloth required to stitch pant = 1 + 0.15

Cloth required to stitch pant = 1.15 m

1.15 m cloth can be used to stitch number of pants = 1

36 m cloth can stitch number of pants =

 \frac{1 \times 36}{1.15}

Number of pants = 31.3

(Rounding off as number of pants can not be decimal)

Number of pants = 31

Cloth remaining = total amount of cloth - amount of cloth used for 31 pants

Amount of cloth used for 31 pants = 1.15*31

Amount of cloth used for 31 pants = 35.65 m

Cloth remaining = 36 - 35.65

Cloth remaining = 0.35 m or 35 cm.

Hence, 31 pants can be stitched and cloth remaining will be 35 cm.
