Cloth required for stitching 1 shirt = 2 m 15 cm

Can also be written as :-

Cloth for 1 shirt = 2.15 m

Can also be written as :-

Shirts made in 2.15 m cloth = 1

Shirts made in 1 m cloth = 1/2.15

Possible shirts made in 40 m cloth = 1/2.15×40

When decimal is removed :-

= 4000/215

= 18 shirts

18 complete shorts can be made by 40m cloth.

Cloth remaining :-

Cloth required for 18 shirts = 2.15×18

= 38.70 m

Cloth remaining = 40-38.70

= 1.30 m

1.30 m cloth has remained after making 18 complete shirts from 40 m cloth.
