To stitch a shirt, 2 m 15 cm cloth is needed. Out of 40 m cloth, how many shirts can be
stitched and how much cloth will remain?

=200cm+15cm

=215cm

40m=40*100cm

=4000cm

To Find,

Number of shirts and remaining cloth.

Solution,

Number of shirts= Total number of cloth/ Required cloth to stitch a cloth

= 4000/215 cm

=18.604cm approx.

Since shirt cannot be in decimal value we round off as 18 shirts

Now,

Remaining cloth = Remainder of this division

=Total number of cloth/ Required cloth to stitch a cloth

=4000/215

=Remainder =130 cm

130cm=130/100m

=1.3m
