Answer:

  • The remaining cloth = 130 cm Or 1.3 m.

Given :

  • To stitch a shirt 2 metre 15 CM cloth is needed out of 40 m cloth.

To find :

  • The remaining cloth =?

Step-by-step explanation:

Cloth needed to stitch a shirt = 2m 15cm

we know, 1m = 100cm, so, 2m 15cm =

= 2 × 100 + 15 = 215cm.

Cloth available 40 m = 4000cm

No.of shirts we can stitch = Total cloth available / cloth needed to stitch a shirt =

=4000/215

= 18.60465116279

= 18

18 shirts can be stitched from 40 m cloth.

18 × 215= 3870

Cloth remains = 4000 - 3870= 130 cm or 1. 3m.

Thus, The remaining cloth = 130 cm Or 1.3 m.

Given:

Total meter of cloth = 40m

Cloth needed to stitch a shirt = 2m 15 cm

To find:

  • No. of shirts that can be stitched
  • how much cloth remains

Solution:

2 m 15 cm per shirt

40 m cloth

1 m = 100 cm

2m * 100cm/m = 2 * 100cm = 200 cm

200 cm + 15 cm = 215 cm per shirt

40 m * 100cm/m = 40 * 100cm = 4,000 cm

4,000 cm / 215cm = 18.60

18 shirts can be made.

215 cm * 18 = 3870 cm

4,000 - 3,870 = 130 cm cloth left.
