To stitch a shirt,2m15cm cloth needed. Out of 40m cloth,how many shirt can be stitched and how much cloth will remain

1.3 m of cloth remains

2m 15 cm=2.15 m

amount of cloth available=40m

number of shirts=amount of cloth available/amount of cloth requires to sew the shirt

thus,

no. of shirts=40/2.15

=18.6

nearest whole number[obviously lesser]=18

18 shirts can be made

for 18 shirts

18*2.15 cloth is required

=38.7 m

40-38.7=1.3 m

1.3 m cloth is remaining
