In case of decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, i.e. H2O2, potassium iodide is used as a catalyst in order to speed up the overall process.

Different volumes of the reactants and the products were measured accordingly to find the overall conclusion of this kind of spontaneous reaction.

In the second phase, when the molarity of KI is made into its half and subsequently in third phase when the morality of hydrogen peroxide was also halved, the results were checked.

There was 0.5 M of potassium iodide. These all affected the initial rate of the reaction which can be detected in a pressure against time graph.
