The internal resistance of a cell depends on the following factors.

1 - Internal resistance depends on the size of the electrolyte. If the length of electrolyte is larger more will be the internal resistance of the cell.

2- It also depends on the conductivity of the cell. More the conductivity less will be the internal resistance.

3- It also depends on the area of the electrodes. Internal resistance and area have an inverse relationship with each other.

4- Internal resistance depends on the nature of the electrolyte.
