to to add integers having the same sign, keep the same sign and add the absolute value of each number.to add intergers with different signs ,keep the sign of the number with the largest absolute value and subtract the smallest absolute value from the largest . separate an integer by adding its opposites.

EXAMPLE ; Interger Addition Rules

• Rule #1 - if the sign are the same , pretend the sign aren't there, Add the numbers and put the sign of the addends in front of your answer

9+5=14

-9+5= -14

the number which carries the big number sign donates to the answer ( in simple terms )
