check the differences between the next digit and the exact previous one of it and if all the differences are same in each case,means if a,b,c are to verify either in arithmetic progression or not then
we have to check the value (b-a) and (c-b)
if they are same that is b-a=c-b or b=(a+c)/2;then we can say a,b,c are in AP
You can also verify by the mid term
means if any of the mid term of the series is equal to (additions of its side terms/2) then the series is in AP
ex- a,b,c,d are in AP then b=(a+b)/2
c=(b+d)/2

Answer:

any sequence is any arithmetic progression if all the terms in the sequence except the first term are obtained by adding a definite number to the previous       number.it can be verified that a sequence is an arithmetic progression or not by obtaining difference of two successive terms. if the difference is same for all the successive terms then the sequence is arithmetic progression otherwise it is not
