          let -eq1     (x+2y-4=0)

                 eq2     (2x+4y-12=0)

step2- create a table

eq1-

x=         (0)   ,  (4)

y=4-x/2=     (2)    ,  (0)

eq2-

y=12-2x/4x=       (3)     ,    (0)

step 3 -plot GRAPH for the equation

step4- check for the type of line formed -

1) if lines are intersecting at single point the pair is consistent

2)if lines are parallel the pair is consistent

3) if lines formed are coincident the pair will be consistent

hence- the pair will be inconsistent if the line is parallel
