To what extent do courtship and parenting strategies of non-human animals impact on their survival?

Though I am not sure what impact courtship has on survival of non human animals, parenting strategies have a significant impact on their survival. Many of non human animal young ones are too weak and incompetent to survive and feed themselves during their initial stages of growth and development. Hence parenting strategies enable them to become competent to survive in the environment and thus plays significant role in their survival
