Solution:-

By Pythagoras theorem we get,

x² = 100

x = √100

x = 10

length of ladder = 10 m

height of tip of ladder = h m

by Pythagoras theorem,

AC² = AB² + BC²

10² = 8² + h

h = 6

So, 6 is the required answer.
