To which group in the hierarchy of classification Saprophytes belong. Why are they called so? What's meant by symbiotic relationship? Give one example.

Sporophyte is a diploid stage in the life cycle of any algae or plant.They are called so because they produce spores after their formation.When Two organisms live in mutual association with each other for which both are in benefit it is called symbiotic relationship.

Example when algae is in association with fungae it is called Lichens.
When fungi re in relationship with roots of higher plants it is called mycorhiza.
