To which kingdom the multicellular decomposers belong?

Answers
Decomposers are saprophytic organisms which feed on dead and decaying organic matter, breaking it down and releasing nutrients back into the soil. Unicellular decomposers tend to belong to the kingdom Monera, and are usually saprophytic bacteria. Multicellular decomposers tend to belong to the kingdom Fungi, e.g. Mushrooms and mould. Fungal hyphae are thread-like structures which grow into the tissue or substrate. The fungus makes use of extracellular digestion, releasing enzymes which break down the substrate to release nutrients.
