During the civil war in russia, reds were refer to 'Bolsheviks', green to 'Socialist Revolutionaries' and whites to 'Pro Tsarists'.

During the Russian civil war, 3 armies with different ideas were formed. they were ---
- Red Army - it was led by Vladimir Lenin. It fought for the Bolshevik form of Socialism.
- White Army - it included those people who wanted alternative forms of socialism i.e political monarchism, capitalism, etc.
- Green Army - it included rival militant socialists like Anarchists and Non- ideological motives.
