A judge of high court needs to 'submit his resignation' to the 'President of India'.

Explanation:

  • For high court judges the generally accepted retirement age is sixty-two. Previously though it was sixty years but after 1963, it was extended to two more years.
  • For any reason, if the Judge is subjected to removal from his duties, he or she can do so by resigning.
  • For resignation due to any reason whatsoever, the judge has to send his or her letter of resignation or leave citing the reason to the Indian president.
