Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

U = { 0,1,2,3,4,5 }

M = { 0,1,2,4 }

D = { 3,5 }

To find :-

i) M'

ii) n(M)

iii) D'

iv) n(D)

Solution :-

Given sets are

U = { 0,1,2,3,4,5 }

M = { 0,1,2,4 }

D = { 3,5 }

I) M'

We know that

If A is a set then A' = U-A

M' = U-M

=> M' = { 0,1,2,3,4,5 } - { 0,1,2,4 }

=> M' = { 3,5 }

ii) M = { 0,1,2,4 }

Number of elements in M = 4

Therefore, n(M)= 4

iii) D' = U-D

=> D' = { 0,1,2,3,4,5 } - { 3,5 }

=> D' = { 0,1,2,4 }

iv) D = {3,5}

Number of elements in D = 2

Therefore,n(D) = 2

Answer:-

i) M' = { 3,5 }

ii) n(M) = 4

iii) D' = {0,1,2,4}

iv) n(D) = 2

Used formulae:-

→ If A is any set and U is the universal set then The compliment of A is A' = U-A

→ The number of elements in a set A is denoted by n(A) .
