answer-

let the total people going to fair be x

now, if there were 2 less [ x-2 ] then each would get = 18

so, total money = 18 *  [x-2]

= 18x - 36

now, if there were 3 more [ x+3 ] then each would get = 12

so, total money = 12 * [x+3]

= 12x + 36

now, 18x - 36 = 12x + 36

18x - 12x = 36 + 36

6x = 72

x = 72/6

x = 12

so, total people going to fair = 12

now, total money = 12x+36 [ here, we can consider any observation which is either 12x+26 or 18x-36, in both the cases we will get same answer ]

so, total money = 12x + 26

total money = 12*12 + 36

total money = 144+36

total money = 180

hope it helps

have nice day
