- Nonrenewable energy resources, like coal, nuclear, oil, and natural gas, are available in limited supplies. This is usually due to the long time it takes for them to be replenished. Renewable resources are replenished naturally and over relatively short periods of time.
- Recycled refers to the sustainable use of a non-renewable resource by using it in a cyclical way. Some examples of recyclable resources are newspapers, cardboard, office paper and glass. Some less commonly known recyclable resources are bricks, asphalt, concrete, oil and sand.
- the parts of a sea or an ocean which are near a country’s coast and are legally under its control
- Potential resources are those which have been found in a region, but not utilized. The technology for its access is available, but not put into use. Eg: Solar and wind energy development in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Stock resources are those that have the potential to satisfy human needs.
- The resources which are available and accessible but arent yet being used properly and are conserved and used judiciously for the future are called reserve resources. Examples are river water can be used to generate hydroelectric power but till now their use has been limited.
