I do not agree with the statement that, ‘Today’s generation is more self centred than earlier’. On the superficial level it may appear to be so, as the youth of today have very little time to spare for others. They have to work extremely hard and fight the toughest of competitions in every sphere of life to build a decent career. They become too exhausted in the rat race of life, a major part of it, courtesy, to meet their parents’ aspirations and hopes.  Unconsciously, they become man machines.

We must also remember that today’s nuclear families are primarily responsible for this change in behaviour of the younger generation. Parents want their children to be multifaceted and be really good in all they do. It has therefore, become a matter of survival of the fittest for the younger generation. Only regret is, they become too mature too early.

Although it might appear that sharing and caring have been cast aside and the new generation is busy marching ahead all by itself, we simply cannot ignore nor bypass their immense contribution in all spheres of life, be it academics, research, sports, social services and so on, for the betterment of society as a whole.

It is true as today's generation likes spending their time with electronics rather than real people. They do not how to interact with people and this is causing their hard to get stoned and becoming more self centered
