A Lovely Sea Voyage (Short Story)
The waters seemed so calm that evening. And as the sun set, the sky turned to a fabulous colour of dark pink. Not one cloud in the sky could be seen.
Rachel came out from the canopy and said, "Let's go over there!" pointing to a large island. She was wearing a white two-piece bikini, which emphisied her long curly red hair.
Jake, her husband, steared the boat to teh large island. Jake had black hair, and green eyes that stood out no matter what he wore.
There were three islands where they were cruising. It was romantic. The perfect get-away they had planned for months. The only sounds they heard were the light crashing of the waves, the gentle breeze, and the music Rachel was playing. She was always fond of J.S. Bach and his piece 'Air in D-Minor'.
THey both went back under the canopy, where they had a day bed piled with pillows. Just as Jake was going to take her, he felt the boat collide with the beach of the first island.
"We are here, darling," he said.
As they both stepped onto the beach, their feet sank slowly, with the tide coming in. Rachel loved that feeling.
The island looked like paradise; Palm trees blowing in the evening wind, a waterfall splashing onto rocks below, and the land lush with greenery. It looked very inviting.
Jake went back to teh boat and picked up the wicker basket. Rachel laid down a beach blanket, then Jake displayed the food. They sat in silence, eating while watching the sky turn blue for the evening stars. As they started peeking out, Jake looked at Rachel. In her outfit, she looked just as tasty as the food did.
