Answer:

Elinor's present age is 15 years and her mother’s age after 15 years is 55 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that Today the ratio of Elinor’s age to her mother’s age is 3 : 8.

Let ratio be x

So present age of Elinor = 3x

Present age of Mother = 8x

After 15 years , Elinor's age = 3x+15

After 15 years Mother's age = 8x+15

We are also given that After 15 years, the ratio will become 6 : 11.

So, After 15 years , Elinor's age = 6x

After 15 years Mother's age =11x

So, 3x+15 = 6x

So,  15 = 6x-3x

15 = 3x

x=5

So, Elinor's present age = 3x=3 \times 5 = 15 years

Her mother’s age after 15 years= 11x=11 \times 5 = 55 years

Hence Elinor's present age is 15 years and her mother’s age after 15 years is 55 years.
