I am four times as old as my daughter. In 20 years time I shall be twice as old as her.
How old are we now?

In twenty years you will be 60 and she will be 3... That one is more complicated, we have to add 20 to both ages and the second age needs to be doubled AFTER we add the 20, thus the parentheses.

Let name of daughter be Shila

Let name of father be Rampal

Let the age of Shila be x

Then the age of Rampal will be 4x

ATQ

2(x+20)=(4x+20)

=>2x+40=4x+20

=2x=20

=>x=10

therefore, age of Shila=10

age of rampal=4×10=40
