12 toffees must be sold at rupees 20

Step-by-step explanation:

15 toffees are bought at rupees 20

=> CP of 1 toffee = 4/3

Let us assume that X toffees are to be sold for rupees 20

Toffees are to be sold at rupees 20 at profit per cent =25%

=>selling price (SP) =20

This means SP=CP+25%CP

=>20 =1.25 =CP =rupees 16

This is the cost of X toffees

Now the CP of 1 toffee is 4/3 and CP of X =16

=> X*4/3 =16

=> X =16*3/4 => X =4*3

=> X = 12

Therefore, 12 toffees must be sold at rupees 20

Number of toffee that will be bought for 20 Rs = 20 / ( 5 / 3 ) = 20 * 3 / 5 = 12 . Therefore, By selling 12 toffees for 20 Rs. We will get 25% profit.
