Tom and Jerry are playing a ball game. The game goes as follows: Standing 1 m apart, Jerry first throws the ball to Tom and then Tom throws the ball back to Jerry. Next, standing 2 m apart, Jerry throws to Tom and Tom throws back to Jerry. After each pair of throws, Tom moves 1 m farther away from Jerry. They stop playing when one of them misses the ball. If the game ends when the 33rd throw is missed, how far apart are they standing and who misses catching the ball

Answer:

16 m

Explanation :

Till 32nd throw they are 16 m apart.

On 33rd throw jerry will throw tha ball towards tom. And then Tom will thorw ball to jerry on the 34th throw and then move 1 m more apart.

But games end at 33rd throw only.

Till 33rd throw they are 16 m apart

33rd throw was missed by Tom because jerry was throwing the ball towards Tom in 33rd throw and tom misses it thus game ends
