Tom was dissatisfied after seeing the new house. He did not like it since there was no warmth there and it looked very gloomy to him.
Explanation:
- Since he thought that the house was not pleasant it made him cold and scared of the place. He could hear rambling and echoes in the rooms as well. He was frightened of the towering mansion.
- Later, his views regarding the house changed as the mystery around the moaning toy-box was solved. He started living there with his family. The spooky house eventually made him feel comfortable and welcoming.
