According to 1st condition:

According to 2nd condition:

• Age of Tom 6 years ago = x - 6
• Age of Jerry 6 years ago = y - 6

Then,

➝ x - 6 = 4(y - 6)

➝ x - 6 = 4y - 24

➝ x - 4y = -24 + 6

➝ x - 4y = -18.......(2)

From here,

➝ x = 4y - 18

Substituing value of x in eq.(1)

➝ 4y - 18 = y + 3

➝ 4y - y = 18 + 3

➝ 3y = 21

➝ y = 21/3 = 7 years.

Now, finding age of Jerry
