(A) number of tulips left out and he can plant :- 5t - 9

(B) number of tulips he planted:- 36 tulips

  so ,   5t-9-36 = 0

(C) solution ::-         5t-9 = 36

                             5t = 45

                                t= 45/5        

                               t= 9
