Tom wants to cover his 13 m by 12 m backyard with lawn. Seed for the lawn costs ₹7.50 per square metre. Find the total cost of the seed for the lawn.

12 x 13 which is equal to 156 square and per metre square price is 7. 5 rupees so 156 into 7.5 which is equal to 1170 rupees

Area of the backyard = (l*b) = (12*13)m² = 156m²
Now.. rate of seeds = 7.50/m²
Therefore cost of seeds = 7.50*156 = Rs. 1170
