tomatoes are red and leaves are green why ?

Most tomatoes ripen from the inside out, hence thetomato seeds are green because they contain chlorophyll, the pigment in plants which gives them agreen hue. Chlorophyll allows plants to absorb energy from light in a process called photosynthesis.

The fruit of many plants are different colors. The minerals and other nutrients in the fruit make it take on a particular color. The leaves of the plants make food for the plant through photosynthesis. For this to happen the leaves have to contain chlorophyl which is green.And tomato's red part has different chloroplasts
