This was found by his grandfather and it seems vecular to him because they didn't seen a book in their life.

Tommy found the book in the attic of their house. He and Margie found it peculiar as they were acquainted with e-books only and had never seen a real book.

EXPLANATION:

The short story ‘The Fun They Had’, is a story of the future by Isaac Asimov. The story is set in the year 2157, much ahead of our time.

There are two siblings- Tommy and Margie. They read in a virtual school that exists in their television set. Instead of paper books theirs are electronic books that scroll laterally on the television screen. A real flesh and blood human teacher is replaced by a metallic robot. Thus when Tommy finds an old paper book at the attic belonging to his grandfather he is mesmerised by its texture. He reads it with great attention. When his sister sees him she too is intrigued by it. Both the children are fascinated by the concept of books in paper, real hard copies not the virtual soft copies they are used to.
