  4. See the length in the ruler and divide the length by the number of turns to get the thickness of the wire.

But since the diameter of a thin wire is very small and cannot be measured in cm.  The appropriate measurement instrument to use is a micrometer screw gauge.  It is an instrument used for measuring accurately the diameter of a thin wire or the thickness of a metal sheet.  It has its main scale reading in mm and the highest reading being 0.5mm.  It is further divided into hundredths of millimeters to accommodate a variety of smaller readings.
