Here is your answer mate ✌️⚠️

Total number of students= 50

(i) Students who scored less than 40=15

P(E) = 15 /50 = 3 /10 = 0.3

(ii)Students who scored 60 or more than 60 = 17

P(E) =17 / 50

Hope this helps you ✌️✌️⚠️

Answer:

\begin{center}\begin{tabular}{ |c|c|c| } \cline{1-2} \textsf{Marks} &\textsf{Number of students}\\\cline{1-2} 0-20 &3\\\cline{1-2} 20-40& 12 \\\cline{1-2} 40-60 & 18\\\cline{1-2} 60-80 &10\\\cline{1-2} 80-100&7 \\ \cline{1-2}\end{tabular}\end{center}

Total number of students = 50 [ Given in the question ]

Number of students who scored less than 40 = 3 + 12 = 15 .

(1) P( scored less than 40 ) = 15/50

⇒ 3/10

⇒ 0.3

The probability is 0.3 .

(2)

Number of students who scored 60 or more = 10 + 7  = 17

P( scored more than 60 or 60 ) = 17/50

⇒ 0.34

The probability is 0.34 .

Step-by-step explanation:

\mathtt{Probability =\dfrac{Number\:of\:favourable\:outcomes}{Number\:of\:possible\:outcomes}}

Here the number of possible outcomes = number of total students = 50 .
