Tony is 4 times as old as Ron. After 10 years, Tony will be twice as old as Ron. Find the present ages​

let present age of Tony =x years

let present age of ron = y years

so the equation is as follows:

x=4y -1

after 10 years,

age of Tony = 10+x

age of ron = 10+y

so the equation is:

10 + x= 2 × (10 +y)

10+x = 20 +2y -2

putting equation 1st in 2nd :

10+ (4y) = 20+2y

4y-2y =20-10

2y = 10

y = 5 years

x= 4×(5) -( from equation 1)

x=20 years

so Tony is 20 years old and ron is 5 years old.
